Doug’s Dojang is excited to offer school holiday workshops to encourage local children to be active, build self-confidence and increase their personal safety skills. We're delighted to be back with these workshops after a very successful series in 2024. All workshops are made possible through the support of Frenchville Sports Club Community Partnership Program. ​​ For the upcoming school holidays, two workshops are being offered on Saturday 12 April: 8.30am: Session 1 for ages 4-7 years 9.30am: Session 2 for ages 8-12 years Both sessions will run from Bauhinia House, on the corner of High and Berserker Streets (North Rockhampton). ​ These are entry-level workshops so no previous experience is necessary ... just bring yourself, some comfortable clothes, a water bottle and a willingness to learn and have fun.

Throughout the year SHAKE also gets involved with various school events like the New Farm State School Fete and Brisbane Central State School Activity Day. This gives students the opportunity to share their love for dance with friends and classmates as well as the wider community.

From Tween to Teen and everything in-between... A workshop designed to give your Tween the RIGHT information about puberty and give her the opportunity to have her questions answered! We have developed a light-hearted and friendly workshop to set the record straight and squash anxiety around the unknown. This workshop will focus on providing girls with information around puberty and what to expect. We will explore the many emotions that girls feel about going through puberty and help them to understand these emotions are normal and common between peers. We will cover both the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty, giving them specific information about what to expect. We will identify any fears they may have and work to decrease their concerns. We will also discuss how their changing bodies may bring up some different emotions and thoughts about their physical appearance and discuss how this may affect self-esteem. So that the girls get their questioned answered, we will have an anonymous box where the girl's have the opportunity to ask any questions about this stage of life... and will have them answered during the workshop (This box is a HUGE hit with the girls)! The weekend is coming and the kids need something to do so why not come out and visit us? The Monthly Open Farm Event occurs on the second Saturday of each month from 9am till 12pm. Bring along your family, friends, a picnic rug/chair for a great morning out on the farm!
