"Young Archies" - Focus Topic for Art Classes Term 1 2025 Each term, we develop a set of lesson plans based on a new topic to keep your child engaged. The term topic supports learning of techniques and artistic styles presented in the context of an art movement or famous artist Introducing a fresh topic each term enhances student interest and engagement, accelerating the learning process. The Topic for Term 1 2025 is “Young Archies” where the students will prepare an entry for the Art Gallery of NSW Annual Young Archies portrait competition. In the “Young Archies” topic, students will focus on creating meaningful and personal portraits as they prepare entries for the prestigious annual Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) Young Archie competition. This competition celebrates young artists aged 5–18, challenging them to capture the essence of someone special in their lives, such as a family member, friend, or someone who inspires them. Throughout the term, students will study the styles and techniques of renowned Australian artists, including Margaret Olley, Brett Whiteley, and Del Kathryn Barton. They will learn how to use intricate detail and storytelling, bold and expressive compositions, and vibrant, symbolic designs to bring their portraits to life. By the end of the program, each student will have completed a finished portrait ready for submission to the Young Archie competition. This experience not only provides an opportunity to showcase their skills on a prestigious platform but also encourages them to express their individuality and creativity, celebrating their unique artistic voices.

Early exposure to visual art promotes activity and development in the brain. Art lessons greatly encourage and nurture valuable life skills through fun, creative, learning activities. Les Petits Painters offers art lessons to stimulate young people’s minds and develop them mentally, socially, physically (dexterity, coordination, observation), and emotionally. Children will acquire skills through new techniques and processes using a wide range of tools, learn about new materials, and create projects that express their thoughts and personality. Our Summer Kickstart is BACK for 2025 and registrations are now OPEN! We are thrilled to launch more training opportunities than ever before over the summer months. Our Summer Kickstarter season is a great way to start the new year working on core skills, bringing football fitness up to scratch and making some new friends. Please have a read through the below details and session times before registering. Training format: All training sessions are conducted by Football Australia licenced Easts FC coaches following a curriculum set out by our Technical Director and the FA. Each coach will have a group of max 12 players for U6-U7 and 10 players for U8-U18. These sessions will blend personal and team skills. There are NO SET TEAMS but if you register to the same training session as a friend, you can ask to be together on the day. Games format: 4v4 for all ALL groups. Fast paced 'street-style' football with no set teams. 1x Easts FC coach per field will divide you into groups based on age, ability and enthusiasm. If you are new to the club, we will use the first couple weeks to gauge your level. Games last the whole hour with breaks.

Come and join us for our Family Funday! The 15th of February, at Liverpool Netball courts (Woodward Park). A chance for our Junior players to learn and practice some of the skills we use in netball. Come and join us, make some friends and ignite your passion for the game before the 2025 season starts! What do I wear? Wear anything that your are comfortable running around in. It's important to wear joggers; this protects your feet when you play. Can I register to play after the skills day? Yes! You can come to skills and then sign up with us afterwards for the Winter season. Can I look at uniforms on the skills day? Yes! HOLIDAY ART & CRAFT CLASSES for Primary school attending children 5.5 - 12 YEARS We offer a diverse range of art lessons during school holidays: drawing, painting, printmaking & sculpture.​ All primary school attending children are eligible for holiday classes. Preschoolers are NOT accepted into our holiday program. Programs are uploaded to the START ART SCHOOL website 4 weeks prior to school holidays. CLASS SIZES A maximum of 12 children per art class AGE Children must be attending Primary school and be at least 5.5 years old to attend classes. The aim of our program is to train and develop players who want to elevate their Basketball skills. Our qualified coaches will train players in our intensive skills program and have them play against each other in a tournament-style environment. Mini Hoops is a FUN and non-competitive introduction to the great game of Basketball and players will develop fundamental skills such as passing, catching and shooting which will be critical elements of the game as they progress through the age groups. This program is suited for kids 5 to 9 years of age.

Basketball Development League is a development program for all young players who want to learn the fundamentals of basketball. It is designed as an effective pathway to develop individual skills and enhance teamwork in a fun and safe learning environment.

Our NetSetGo Mini Magpies program is the perfect place to start for all new netballers aged 5-7 This beginner program gives kids the opportunity to be introduced to netball, without the pressure of regular competition games. We focus on improving skills whilst having fun in a safe and inclusive environment. The program starts in term 2 and will be held on Tuesdays, 5pm - 6pm. Registration is $140 and includes a starter pack from Netball Australia.

Registrations are now open for our 2025 Winter Competition What are the ages? We have 3 Junior age groups that participate in netball at Greenlees: 1. NetSetGo! This program is for children aged between 5 and 7 years old. It is a nationally developed program to introduce kids to netball. There are no competition games and the focus is on developing skills, making friends and having fun. It is run on a Tuesday night. 2. Modified Modified players are aged 8-9 years old and take part in a modified program. Games take place on grass courts and some of the rules are changed to make it easier for the players to take part and learn the game. There is no scoring. Training is Tuesday nights and games are Saturday mornings. 3. Juniors, Cadets and Seniors Juniors (10 - 15 years) play competition games each week. There are multiple divisions in each age group to ensure team plays in an appropriate grade. Training is Tuesday nights and games are Saturdays When do you play? Games are held on Saturdays at Cintra Park Netball Courts, as part of the Inner West Association competition. Our Modified and Junior teams play in one of the morning time slots, which are 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am & 11:30am. Teams play the same time slot throughout the season. This year, games start on Saturday, 5th April. We have breaks for the long weekend and school holidays. Game times will not be made available by the Association until after teams have been submitted and grading completed, so unfortunately we are unable to be more specific about playing times. As all of our admin are volunteers, it may take us a little while to get back to you at busier times, but we will always try to answer all questions.
