At The Farm Byron Bay we encourage kids to enjoy and learn from the surroundings of a real working farm. Farm Kids inspires and educates children through our programs about where food comes from and introduces them to concepts like paddock rotation for the animals, the importance of pollination, organic farming, crops, healthy soil, composting and other ethical farming practices. Children can meet our animals and watch them in their natural surroundings and be amongst our chickens whilst enjoying some of the best things in life, sunshine and fresh air. December January School Holiday Program At the beginning of each workshop we take the children on an educational and fun tour of The Farm. We educate them about our pigs, bees, chickens, flower crops, herb garden, orchard and veggie crops. The children get up close and personal with our pet chickens, pick and taste veggies, edible flowers and herbs. After the tour we head back to the farmhouse where each day has a different point of discussion, cooking, gardening and craft focus. Happily Heffalump art classes will continue next year with theory and colour projects each week. We will practice special effects, perspective, anatomy and animation techniques. The colour projects will be playing with European water colour, Ink stone and ink stick on bamboo papers, oil and chalk pastels. Acrylic, goauche paint for cartoons. Markers and colour pencil sketching.

Bookings are now open for Term 4 classes at Red Hot Tennis Mullumbimby. Our tennis programs cater for players of all ages and abilities. The Tennis Australia endorsed Hot Shots program (5yrs-12yrs) or squad trainings (13yrs & up) offer a development pathway for kids to enjoy learning the game. Our senior students (Year 3 +) develop performance skills in the first half of the year through improvisation drama games and scene work. In the second half of the year they collaborate with their teacher on a group devised piece to be performed at a real theatre. For many of our students this is the highlight of their year as they shine on stage in front of a live audience. Working together in drama means listening to each other and accepting and extending each others ideas thus helping children develop good social skills and confidence in presenting their own ideas. Music is so much more than just playing an instrument. The music skills of listening, understanding, creating and enjoying music play a key role in a child’s development and should be experienced by all children. Using action songs, body percussion, story-telling and guided listening activities, our teacher will engage your child in a musical world that can lead to a life enriched by music. Term 4 starts Wednesday 16th October or Saturday 19th October, and will run for 8 weeks. Open to students aged 3-10, the Kids at the Con classes serve as a fantastic introduction to music class where students are engaged and are free to explore their musical creativity in a welcoming and non-competitive environment. No prior experience necessary!
