Set in a beautiful historic Drill Hall, The Drill Hall Studio is THE place to go for local original art, handmade gifts, unique jewellery and accessories and homewares.
Just near the Strand, you can relax in our shady sculpture garden, chat with our friendly resident artists, and browse the gallery and gallery store for that special something.
We have a range of exciting 'ART ATTACK' art and craft classes for adults and children of all ages. Parents can drop the kids off for an after-school class, then pop down to the beach with the little ones, go for a jog, enjoy a quiet coffee, or even get the groceries - all within 100 metres of the gallery. Parking is easy and free - the perfect creative destination.

    Local Art on the Rise
    I love it's uniqueness and character- the gallery is full of history, and yet full of contemporary and emerging artists! Located one street back from the Strand, the Drill Hall Studio offers an ever changing variety of hand crafted local artwork!

    Art for kids
    The art classes for kids have been amazing. Sue helps guide the kids towards what they want to achieve. And teaches them the techniques required to do so. All done in a friendly open manner which really appeals to the kids.

    Excellent Art
    I love visiting the Drill Hall Studio - an excellent spot to get that perfect present, even for the hardest-to-buy-for friend.

    My art escape
    I've been coming to the Drill Hall weekly for over a year now to enjoy creating and exploring my artistic side in an adult mixed media art class. Such an informative and supportive environment, and the items for sale in the gallery are beautiful too - and a huge temptation! I cannot recommend it more highly - it is a wonderful place to escape and create for a few hours. and I have done several different types of small workshop too, including glass and clay.

    Professional, fun and exciting!
    The Drill Hall studio teaches fun and exciting art classes for kids of all ages. They are run by professional artists who leave all kids with a smile on their face, a new skill, and often a new way of looking at things. The studio itself also has an array of items that are always interesting to browse through if waiting for the kids. Would definitely recommend booking your kids in for these classes! They do not disappoint!
