Calisthenics is a team sport where participants learn routines choreographed to music and present them at Concerts and Competitions, with elements of gymnastics, ballet, apparatus manipulation, team work, dance and singing all choreographed & displayed on stage. Performed in teams of different age groups, all members are an integral part and all abilities are catered for. Calisthenics can be classified as both a sport and an art. As a sport it encourages physical development, fitness, flexibility, coordination, self-discipline and team spirit. As an art it develops an appreciation of music and rhythm, the correct techniques of dancing and the excitement of performing.

    Great unique dance sport
    We have been involved in this dance sport with Sylvania Calisthenics for 15 years. It is great for team participation, is very affordable and has unique dance styles. In only 1 lesson per week, over the year the children are taught up to 6 different dances/styles. If you are disenchanted with the usual dance styles and associated fees, try Sylvania calisthenics.
