Physical Culture or Physie (pronounced ‘fizzy’) is a dance sport for girls and women. We aim to build confidence, poise and grace as well as developing good posture, strength, fitness, flexibility, co-ordination and balance through a program of fitness and dance. Above all physie builds life long friendships and teaches its students to strive for their goals!

Strathpine Physie has been serving the community for over 30 years with the same teacher! Above all our club is friendly and welcoming to all members, old and new and will welcome you or your daughter with open arms. We ensure classes are fun, new and exciting as well as giving the girls the opportunity to make new friends. We also encourage inter-age group “buddying” so the younger girls will have lots of older friends to look after them at competitions!
At Strathpine we strive for the best results of all – a big smile and knowing we performed to the best of our ability!

Our lessons are held at Kurwongbah State School Hall, Eacham Road, Petrie.

At Strathpine we pride ourselves in our low cost classes and inexpensive costumes. Best of all we require NO expensive dance shoes! One coloured leotard and one black leotard is all that is required per year and we offer secondhand leotards in April and new leotards in May.

We hold specialised pre-school classes for 3-4 year olds to teach them the basic principles of physie and dance. This will lead them into our 5-12 year age groups taught by Junior teacher Miss Maddison. From here we have senior classes for 13 years and above where girls above 15 years compete for a coveted spot in the National Final at the Sydney Opera House. Our ladies classes then accommodate both experienced physie ladies with an open syllabus as well as a beginner syllabus for those wanting to try something fun and new! In fact in 2012 our beginner ladies team (full of ladies who had NEVER done physie before) won the QLD State Cham
