Description

St Monicas Netball Club is a non-for-profit committee run club based in Moonee Ponds, Victoria, Australia. The club was founded by passionate parents of aspiring netball players in 2000 and is proud of its long standing affiliation with St Monicas Parish Primary School, Moonee Ponds.

St Monicas Netball Club (SMNC) aspires to be the organisation all aspiring netballers want to join and never want to leave. We aim to set the benchmark for fun, inclusion, community and sporting excellence.

We aim to position ourselves as the first choice for parents in the Moonee Valley region considering extracurricular activities for their daughters and sons. We aim to be a simple, affordable and easy option for families, providing a team-first pathway from childhood through to adulthood.

Our club can field teams from the age of seven to Open age sections of the competition. We also run a Woolworths NetSetGO program for children aged five to 10.

Our players train at St Monicas Parish Primary School in Moonee Ponds, Victoria. We have 13 teams registered in the 2023 Essendon District Netball Association (EDNA) Winter / Spring season, played at the Riverside Courts Complex in Ascot Vale, Victoria. Games are played on a Saturday afternoon.

St Monica's Netball Club teams:
9 & Under: Eagles, Vikings
11 & Under: Colts, Saints
13 & Under: Dodgers, Dolphins, Chiefs, Steelers, Lions, Chargers
15 & Under: Jets, Astros
17 & Under: Seahawks

Training
We train at St Monica's Primary School senior yard in Moonee Ponds. Training times are either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday after school depending on your age division.

NetSetGO
St Monica's Netball Club offers a Woolworths NetSetGO program in Term 3 each year, which is netball's official starter program for kids aged five to 10. Held on Saturday's at 9am at St Monica's Primary School, it's a chance for kids to learn netball basics while having fun. Kids gain confidence, get active and make friends.

EDNA Netball Winter Season 2024 - St Monica's Netball Club

St Monica's Netball Club will be looking for players to play in their Winter Season for 2024. We will be entering social and competitive teams into the competition across U9, U11, U13, U15 & U17 age groups.

Dates: March 2024 - August 2024
Training: St Monica's Primary School - mid week.
Games: Essendon District Netball Association (EDNA)
Where: Riverside Courts Complex, 75 Newsom St, Ascot Vale

Registrations will open in February 2024
Players will build and learn new skills while making new friends.

Dates: from 20 Jul 2024 to 30 Sep 2028

Event price: $50+

Price details: Registration fee is $92 and includes 9 weeks of NetSetGO fun, a certificate, a medal and a Woolworths NetSetGO t-shirt and netball.

Age group accepted: 5-8 year olds, 8-10 year olds

Parental Supervision: Required

St Monica's Netball Club offers a Woolworths NetSetGO program in Term 3 each year which is facilitated by the club. Woolworths NetSetGO is netballs official starter program for kids aged five to 10. It's a chance to learn the netball basics while having fun. Kids gain confidence, get active and make friends in a safe and inclusive environment.

How it works:
The program is divided up into three tiers. Net, Set and GO. Where you begin depends on your age and netball experience, but there's no skill level required to get started.

WHEN: Throughout Term 3 for 10 weeks
TIME: Saturdays, 9 - 10am
WHERE: St Monica's Primary School, Moonee Ponds, Senior Yard

Registration fee is $92 and includes 9 weeks of NetSetGO fun, a certificate, a medal and a Woolworths NetSetGO t-shirt and netball.

If you child loves NetSetGO, they might consider joining one of the St Monica's Netball Club Under 9's teams.

The Under 9's division is a really great starting point and age for any kids wanting to have a go at Netball. The Under 9 teams play with relaxed rules, lower rings and the kids have the opportunity to learn as they play.
