Southern Cross Martial Arts Pty Ltd is part of the wider Southern Cross Martial Arts Association, a community focussed, multi disciplinary, professional martial arts school with branches in Queensland and Victoria. As far as martial arts schools go, weve really broken the mold!

How so you may well ask? Consider this:
1. We are a professional school with a strong community spirit;
2. We embrace neurodiversity and have programs for kids and adults alike with an ASD diagnosis;
3. We utilise a professionally developed character development program in our junior programs;
4. All of our instructors are trained professionals this means they hold an instructor rank (usually black belt, but this can change depending on the art) and hold qualifications in martial arts, child safety, coaching and first aid. We have a proven track record in training people to become instructors with our Chief Instructors having run an international school teaching just that, martial arts instructing and coaching;
5. We have an extensive leadership development program which in many cases leads to a formal School Based Traineeship so we can teach them the right way to teach; and
6. We are safety focussed and our senior instructors act as consultants to industry on safety in training, self defence training and much more.

    SCMA has an excellent program. Instructors are very professional and knowledgeable in their art! Great with kids. Just an all round excellent business

    Fantastic
    My three kids including one on the spectrum have all loved the classes at SCMA. They have not only improved in karate but also in confidence, listening and focus. Cannot recommend highly enough

    Highly recommended
    Damien is a fantastic role model and teacher for the lil kiddies, so glad to have come across his centre, just what my lil boy needed has helped him in so many ways. Damien has the patience of a saint and is super flexible and insightful to the kids needs and their individual personalities. A pleasure to watch my lil one find something he loves to do and can grow into, learn and develop skills and concepts.

    Best Autism Friendly teacher in the southern hemisphere.
    Sensei Damien has the best classes for children on the spectrum. Can read how the child is feeling and teachers to child's ability without sensory overload. Great motivator without been pushy. We have a different child now because of classes with Damien. Couldn't recommend more highly.

    Southern cross martial arts
    We have only been attending SCMA for a short time but in that time we have found that Damian is a wonderful teacher he is calm and patient with my son and caters wonderfully to his needs where possible. The classes run on a variety of days and times to try and suit everyones needs. He is also very reasonably priced. My son loves attending his classes and looks forward to them every week :)

    Absolutely fantastic!
    We are so happy with Damien and Southern Cross Martial Arts. He has been amazing for both our boys. Damien is so patient and great for all different needs, wouldn’t go anywhere else!
