Description

I teach guitar (electric and acoustic), and bass. I always make lessons fun, with 30 years of playing experience and having taught my first student in 1993. I possess an extensive knowledge of music theory and harmony, and teach from my studio in Diddillibah. Lessons can also take place using Zoom for students who are not on the Sunshine Coast.

My music lessons help students get the FACCTS. (Fun, Achievement, Confidence, Creativity and Teamwork.) to discover and enjoy making music, and explore their abilities to learn a new skill. I teach all styles, from kids aged 9 upwards learning the basics, to pop, rock, blues and jazz.

The fastest way to progress as a student is to practice at home, building the muscle (including brain) memory, so to ignite the passion for playing, I teach tunes that the student loves, right from the start. We gently incorporate technique and music theory through those tunes, as well as through exercises that ensure that they become a well-rounded musician. I am a registered AMEB (Australian Music Examinations Board) enroller and will help you or your child prepare and pass AMEB grades.

The learning environment at my Diddillibah studio is relaxed but professional, with free wi-fi for parents who might be waiting, and I possess a current QLD Working with Children Blue Card. I keep a log for each student of their progress, which can be accessed by parents.
