Melody Makers is a weekly music class and play time for children under 5.

We start with a structured music class every week. Children and their parents/carers sing songs, move and dance to music, use percussion instruments, listen to a bible story, and play musical games together. We sing traditional rhymes, as well as a few Christian songs. These activities are not just fun - they stimulate your children's imagination, provide opportunities for them to learn to follow instructions, and teach them important musical concepts such as beat, rhythm, pitch, dynamics, and tempo. We aim to create a safe environment for you to enjoy spending time with your child as they explore the world through music.

The 30-minute music class is followed by free play from 10-11am when kids play with our age appropriate toys, and interact with other children and grown-ups. While the kids play, adults can relax, have a cuppa and chat with other parents.

Bring morning tea for your child. We provide tea/coffee and biscuits for adults.

We meet on Friday mornings 9.30-11am during the school term. $40 per 10-wek term, or $60 if you have more than one child attending. Come for a free trial class! If you decide to continue, we will ask you to enroll and pay for the rest of the term (vacancy permitting).

Melody Makers is a program offered by Concord Baptist Church, where we aim to connect with the community by providing a safe and welcoming environment for families. All members of our team are volunteers and have current Work with Children Check clearance. Suzanne who plans the program and teaches most of the classes has formal qualifications in music (ATCL, LTCL).

Price details: $40 per term per child. Melody Makers is a program run by volunteers from Concord Baptist Church, and all funds go back to the program.

Parental Supervision: Required

Each Friday morning during Term 4 we have a 30-min music class followed by an hour of free play. Children and their carers participate in the music class together, singing, dancing, exploring percussion instruments, and listening to a bible story. We ask parents to bring morning tea for their children, and grown-ups are invited to have a cuppa and relax while the children play. There will be a Christmas performance on Sunday 8 December as part of our annual Children's Christmas Service.

    My daughter and I have really enjoyed this program over the past year. It is welcoming and structured without being rigid. My daughter loves using the instruments and learning new songs and the leader introduces all kinds of music and concepts to the group. A great time!
