I teach piano and flute at Bongaree on beautiful Bribie Island. I am a highly qualified Conservatorium trained teacher with special skills in communicating with students of all levels and ages.
The studio is located at my home so although professional, it has a very relaxed feel. I really enjoy teaching and I instruct with the emphasis on gentle nurturing and encouraging the unique achievements of each student. I tend to teach with the emphasis on note reading as I believe this to be a highly important skill.
I do however play and sing in a duo, so I feel I am also in touch with modern music and am also able to pass this knowledge on to my students.
Each year I organise two concerts to show parents and friends how amazing you are. These events are fun and relaxed and I do encourage students to take part, but they're not mandatory. I'm really all about what is best for each student as an individual.
I will teach exam levels upon request.
Being able to play music is a great gift and can bring such fulfillment to life, regardless of age and level.

I'm happy to introduce myself to you by way of the first lesson being no charge. It can be both an exciting and daunting experience to sign up for classes with a new teacher, so I think it's natural for me to be able to offer this as a gesture and a little bonus. Sometimes new students just need that little nudge to get started and what a great way to do this! A free lesson! More than 95% of students have signed up after the first lesson, so it's well worth giving it a try with no pressure. Occasionally after one lesson a student might decide yes, but defer for a little while. That's ok. It's all about enriching your life or the life of your child, so you all need to be doing this when it's the best time for you. Very occasionally one might say that it's not for them. That's ok too. You'll never know if you don't have a go!

    Inspiring teacher
    Mary Anne has taught our two teenagers music for the past 6 years. They have studied singing, piano and flute with her.Mary Anne has nurtured a love of music in both of them. We had tried three different music teachers before Mary Anne and were close to giving up music as the children were not enjoying the lessons. Mary Anne turned this around and we are so grateful to have found her.

    Mary Anne has been teaching the Piano to our three children for the last six years. She has always worked with each child to bring out their very best; through encouragement and progressive methods. Not only is Mary Anne a brilliant and inspiring teacher; but a beautiful mentor and friend.

    I would highly recommend Mary Anne!
    Mary Anne has been my two children's piano teacher for 5 years. She is a patient, kind and dedicated music teacher and mentor. Mary Anne's passion for music is contagious, and it drives her lessons. She is dedicated and encouraging, not only teaching the technical skill set, but also constantly nurturing and developing her students own unique love of music.

    Our beautiful piano teacher here at Bribie Island - I highly recommend!
    Mary Anne has been my 2 children's piano teacher for 5 years. They are both thriving, and her passion for music is contagious, it drives her lessons, developing not only the kids technical skill set, but at the same time nurturing and guiding their own love of music.

    My daughter Olivia, is a student of Mary Anne's for 5 years now. Since then we have seen our daughter bloom with confidence and have a love of music. Mary Anne was recommended to us by Olivia's then grade 6 teacher , who spoke so highly of her. I highly recommend Mary Anne if you are thinking of having your child leaning music . Not only is she brilliant in her knowledge of music, but her kind gentle way of teaching will have your child wanting to go to every lesson.
