With a lifelong passion in education, I ended up completing a Doctor of Philosophy in Melbourne and worked on research projects that investigated effective learning models for students. From teaching university students to teaching children, the turning point came after travelling around the world as I discovered that learning multiple languages is now crucial for the next generation to compete in the globalised world.
Born in Shanghai with Chinese parents, I came to Australia when I was six. I grew up bilingual speaking both native Mandarin and English. My keen interest in creative arts also led to a broad training of music, drama and modern languages resulting to a Bachelor of Arts and a Diploma of Modern Languages. My teaching methods for children involve music, drama and storytelling to stimulate their interest and open up their imagination.
Learning a foreign language for young children is fun and easy the younger they start. Mandarin is one of the most useful and powerful languages in the world in the twenty-first century for business and travel. Give your child a head start in cognitive development through the learning of a foreign language as well as an opportunity to converse with Kungfu Panda.
I am the Area Manager in the South East suburbs in Melbourne. Apart from Mandarin, LCF provides Italian, French, German, Spanish and English as a second language for children.
