Kodomon Martial Arts is the leading school of the Traditional Japanese Martial Art of Karate-Do and Kinetic Fighting Self Defence in the Brisbane Bayside (Redlands) area.
The development of our students is a major focus for Kodomon Martial Arts and our instructors.

Children can start training from the age of 13, and will benefit from the development of self esteem, confidence, assertiveness, and a mature and disciplined outlook on life. These are core values in the traditional art of Karate-Do, and in our Dojo (Training Hall).

There is a strong element of self-defence in the curriculum for both Adults and Teens, taking into consideration, modern-day civilian threats, the abilities of the students (age, size, etc), common sense, and appropriate responses. We concentrate and build the training in the Dojo around preventative self-defence before tackling physical responses, increasing your self-awareness and confidence in being able to handle conflict situations.

Our Self Defence classes and curriculum is based on Kinetic Fighting, the Australian Defence Forces program, used in Army Combatives and originating in our Special Forces Training Centre. Sensei Irvine is the Civilian Director of Kinetic Fighting across Australia.

It is our wish that you will enjoy a rewarding time, whilst training at the Dojo. Life-long lessons and achievements are earned by those students who persevere with their training. Before long, you will discover that the other students who train at the Dojo are ordinary, friendly people, and many a strong friendship has been forged at the Club.
