Jumpingcreek Ceramics Studio is a young Melbourne based studio that is a space for aspiring, novice and intermediate potters to create, learn, play, experiment and experience the joy and therapeutic benefits of working with your hands.

We believe that creating clay forms through shaping, squeezing, pushing, pulling, rolling and pinching clay is a great way for both kids and adults to express their creativity.

We offer after school hand building pottery classes for children over the age of 6. These are 1.5 hour classes where the children are guided through processes used to create with clay. Once they have completed their pieces they are fired, then the children get to paint them with glaze, they are then fired in a glaze firing and become finished ceramic.

We also offer after school wheel throwing classes for children over the age of 8. In these 1.5 hour classes they will learn how to form clay on the pottery wheel. Over the eight weeks they will learn forming and refining techniques as well as glazing.

Both of these after school classes are also offered in a 2 hour session on school holidays.

These are great activities for your kids to get involved in to unleash their creativity.
