Description

The Eisteddfod is a registered charity and not-for-profit association run totally by volunteers. It provide performance opportunities for young people in the performing arts. The Eisteddfod was established in 1894 and has been in operation for more than 130 years.
The event is held in high quality professional venues across Wollongong and continues to attract large numbers of visitors from interstate as well as many NSW rural, regional and other metropolitan areas. Community engagement and inclusivity are part of the expectations of the community and the event ensures that everyone has the opportunity to shine through their performance on a stage in Wollongong.
The Eisteddfod also addresses;
- Diversity by including all performing arts genres and is open to all abilities.
- Youth our competitors mostly range in age from 3 years to late teenagers.
- Education We successfully provide a learning opportunity for young people through school based work placement opportunities to assist in event operations.
- Health For seniors volunteers, assisting at the event contributes to overall wellness; health, happiness and purpose.
The Eisteddfod also aims to engage the wider community by their attendance at Eisteddfod events and by developing a strong volunteer support group to be able to maximise community involvement.

Event price: Free

Price details: Generally free. All our solo performer events are free. Choirs, instrumental ensembles and dance troupes require tickets.

Age group accepted: 3-5 year olds, 5-8 year olds, 8-10 year olds, 10-12 year olds, 12-15 year olds, 15-18 year olds

Parental Supervision: Required

The 2025 BlueScope WIN Wollongong Eisteddfod runs in various venues across Wollongong from late May (31st) through June until mid July (12th).
