Welcome to Camberwell Structured Playgroup, one of the longest-running playgroups in Victoria! CSP is you lour local not-for-profit playgroup, run by a volunteer committee made up of parents of our playgroup community. Our playgroup is for children 0-5 years old and our sessions run on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9.30am-midday during school term.

Established in 1984 by a co-operative of parents who wanted to give their kids more play in their day, it's a community that has been coming together for almost 40 years now, full of families that have become friends.

CSP nurtures the well-being of both adults and children in a safe and supportive environment.

CSP is a structured playgroup, which means that the facilitator sets up and provides open-ended play experiences where children can bring their own creativity and explore materials in their own way. Parents/carers are present to support and guide their child(ren) through the session.

CSP encourages children to learn and develop through play, offering play experiences that are child-centred, non-competitive, supportive of shared play and focused on building skills and self-esteem.

Typical session includes free play with toys and equipment, structured art and craft activities, dress-ups, role play and a reading corner. Designated snack/meal time is around 11am, followed by mat time with stories and songs lead by an experienced playgroup leader. The final part of the session is outside play - sandpit, cubby house, swing, slide, and outside toys such as trikes, cars, walk boards and a water table for int he warmer months!

  Best playgroup in the area

  My son absolutely adores coming to this playgroup. There is such a variety of indoor and outdoor equipment and stations. Everything from a craft station to song and story time. He especially loves the play coffee kitchen area and the sandpit and swing outside. It's been such a wonderful experience connecting with other mum's in what can be a very challenging journey at times.

  Awesome Playgroup!

  A fun and safe environment, lots of play equipment to suit children aged 1-5, craft and sensory activities planned every week. Songs and reading at mat time. Access to gated outdoor playground at end of session. Lovely Leaders and friendly families.
