Founded in 1978 as a not for profit self help organisation, the Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia is a home grown Australian Buddhist Temple which embraces all major traditions of Buddhist Teachings and practice.

We offer weekly Buddha Dhamma classes and regular retreats for adults, as well as classes for children.

The purpose of our Children's Dhamma Classes is to offer families an introduction to attitudes and behaviours recommended in Buddhist Teachings to help them live a happy life.

Children and their families will have the opportunity to learn about the story of the Buddha, be introduced to Buddhist Teachings such as mindfulness and generosity, participate in guided meditations, learn Buddhist songs and do activities such as colouring in and crafts.

The inclusion of an accompanying parent with each child is to support the learning of the children beyond the classroom environment. The classes will be led by Members of our Centre who are school teachers and hold a current Working with Children Check.

Classes in 2022 will be held on Sundays from 1:30pm to 2:30pm on the following dates:

Term 1: 20th March, 27th March, 3rd April

Term 2: 5th June, 12th June, 19th June

Term 3: 4th September, 11th September, 18th September

Classes are offered free of charge.

Children can join in any time, it is not necessary to attend every class to benefit. Please contact us via our website or email to let us know you wish to attend and we will send you an enrolment form.

The Buddhist Discussion Centre Australia is committed to providing a Child Safe Environment and complying with our obligations under the Child Safe Standards 2015 and legislation including the Child Youth and Families Act 2005.
