Description

The Australian Taekwondo Academy (ATA) was established in Perth by Master Sok Pong Kim in 1975 and grew into a large organisation. Our Instructors are still here continuing on our long standing mission to serve the martial arts community through our programs and to develop our members as they aspire to reach their goals to enrich themselves with martial arts knowledge and practice, self-defence skills and sporting achievements.

We are KidSport approved club. The eligible students get local government funding for the fee and uniform up to $200 per year.

We focus on small group training and currently conducting two classes in Bertram (Sunday @ 2:30pm) and Kardinya (Saturday @ 2:15pm). Both classes are taught by 7th Dan and 4th Dan Black Belt accredited instructors.

ATA is currently headed by Grand Master Kim Seng, 9th dan black belt, the Chief Instructor & Examiner for the ATA group of clubs in WA covering locations from Perth, Peel and the Northwest WA regions. GM Kim has been involved with the martial arts since 1970 and have accreditations and qualifications in the following:
• Taekwondo Master, Judge & Examiner (certified by Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Headquarters)
• International Referee (certified by WTF for kyorugi and poomsae) & Review Jury (WTF), GM Kim Seng has refereed and judged taekwondo competitions at world championships, world cup team events, Olympic qualifications, international, national and state events.
• World Hanmadang Referee (certified by Kukkiwon),
• Taekwondo master coach
• ASMF sports trainer, NASSA sports administrator and accredited sports official.
• Accredited presenter and trainer-examiner for poomsae, sparring referees and poomsae judges.
