Alison is an encouraging and positive teacher who brings a whole body awareness and huge sense of enjoyment to lessons. ‘I teach my students to become confident and expressive singers who have been grounded in a healthy technique. Our ongoing work on breathing, posture, intonation (pitch), tone quality and aural skills create a strong foundation, which enables students to sing with a free and healthy voice. Additionally, I help students to find the character, emotion and meaning in music, allowing students to fully explore the dramatic aspects of singing and performance. In everything I do, I work towards developing the individual and natural voices of my students. As a qualified ballet teacher I have a heightened sense of posture and can impart this to my students, as well as assist them to physically experience beat and rhythm.
