ak traditions grew out of a fascination and love for traditional textiles and cultural history.

As the ak traditions story has evolved and grown its brought together various passions of owner, Annie Hider - and every new design strengthens her affinity with women artisans of the past from every culture who created life enhancing domestic textiles with such care.

Tradition is not static it evolves… but the spirit of the maker remains paramount and should be valued today just as it was in traditional cultures. ak traditions celebrates the joy of ‘making it yourself’ and continues the long tradition of handmade artisan dolls and toys. Start your own tradition let your spirit guide your needle and most of all have fun.

We offer numerous workshops throughout the year for children and adults, including regular weekly sessions on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, full days each Saturday, after school classes for kids and school holiday programs. You can also enquire about special group or party options too.
